Surgeries

HVS offers minor procedures such as castrations and laceration repairs, as well as more involved surgeries like cryptorchids and hernia repairs. We are equipped to perform some minor procedures on farm, while offering a knock down room at the clinic for sterile procedures. Patients are closely monitored to ensure proper sedation and safety for all parties.

ICSI
(Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

An advanced reproductive technique whereby equine oocytes are retrieved from a mare via transvaginal ultrasound guided needle aspiration (TVA / OPU) of follicles.

Sports Medicine

In addition to general, dental, and emergency vet services and surgery, the clinic operates a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine with a Canon plate to provide exceptional imaging, as well as an Exago ultrasound with tendon probe for soft tissue evaluation in the successful diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness and injury affecting show and performance horses.

Mares are housed at the clinic and monitored throughout their cycle in order to be bred at the appropriate time with fresh or frozen semen.
