Bovine Services

HVS offers extensive bovine medicine in addition to equine care, including the care and maintenance of beef cattle herd production. All procedures are done on farm except for scouring calves, which are put on IV therapy at the clinic. Bovine services include:

  • Pregnancy Diagnosis
  • Semen Testing Bulls
  • Calving and C-Sections
  • Feedlot production programs and post mortems (also for small groups of feeders)
  • Calf medicine (scours, navel ill, etc) requiring IV therapy
  • Routine surgical procedures (eye enucleations and rumenostomy)
  • Vaccines and pharmaceutical supplies

ICSI
(Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

An advanced reproductive technique whereby equine oocytes are retrieved from a mare via transvaginal ultrasound guided needle aspiration (TVA / OPU) of follicles.

Sports Medicine

In addition to general, dental, and emergency vet services and surgery, the clinic operates a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine with a Canon plate to provide exceptional imaging, as well as an Exago ultrasound with tendon probe for soft tissue evaluation in the successful diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness and injury affecting show and performance horses.

Artificial Insemination

Mares are housed at the clinic and monitored throughout their cycle in order to be bred at the appropriate time with fresh or frozen semen.
