Equipped with a Portavet Mobile Clinic unit, HVS also offers ambulatory services and on-farm veterinary care. Coupled with high quality portable digital x-ray and clear ultrasound imaging capability, this allows for the provision of high quality equine and bovine veterinary services and after hours emergency service to many areas of central Alberta.

Please note that all bovine services are performed on-farm. These include services such as calving, pregnancy checking, breeding soundness exams on bulls, and herd health visits.

ICSI
(Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)

An advanced reproductive technique whereby equine oocytes are retrieved from a mare via transvaginal ultrasound guided needle aspiration (TVA / OPU) of follicles.

Sports Medicine

In addition to general, dental, and emergency vet services and surgery, the clinic operates a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine with a Canon plate to provide exceptional imaging, as well as an Exago ultrasound with tendon probe for soft tissue evaluation in the successful diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness and injury affecting show and performance horses.

Artificial Insemination

Mares are housed at the clinic and monitored throughout their cycle in order to be bred at the appropriate time with fresh or frozen semen.
